We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

Psalm 18
This chapter is awesome to me when I think of God coming to the rescue...He hears our prayers when we are in trouble, then.....
7 The earth trembled and quaked,
and the foundations of the mountains shook;
they trembled because he was angry.
8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.
9 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.
10 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
13 The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.
14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemies ,
great bolts of lightning and routed them.
15 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at your rebuke, O LORD,
at the blast of breath from your nostrils.
16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.
It is our loving, almighty, awesome God to the rescue!!!

2 Chronicles 25:9
Then Amaziah said to the man of God, "But what shall we do about the hundred talents which I have given to the troops of Israel?"
And the man of God answered, "The LORD is able to give you much more than this."
I like this verse... sometimes it is easy to cling to money/worldly items...
It can be hard to give it up and to actually see and know that the LORD is able to do for us so much more than this world.

Psalm 103:8-10
The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities.

I love the fact that Jesus prays for us.
John 17:20-21

Thank you for reminding me of this beautiful scripture. I can just hear the longing in the heart of the one who wrote the psalm. I think about how I would feel if something happened and I couldn't go to God's house anytime I wanted to. We are so blessed.
